THE BRIDGE BUILDERS STORY…
Johnny Horton came from a plantation as a sharecropper. As he worked his 9-5 job, he dreamed of a better life for his family. After starting his own company, he began teaching his craft to others, especially the underserved community. Desiring to make an even bigger impact, he became involved with various social and civic efforts in Shreveport, Louisiana. He did what was right because it was the right thing to do. As a result, the city of Shreveport renamed a street after Mr. Horton, recognizing his impact on the the lives of countless individuals.
Johnny’s son had his share of struggles in life, but through the mentorship of other committed helpers, he is now providing support and skilled job training to other men who are in the midst of their own redemption story.
Johnny’s grandson, Chauncy Horton, is the founder of Bridge Builders. Chauncy is a licensed federal contractor with a booming construction company, and a heart to serve the under-served. Bridge Builders is not just a creative solution to an epidemic problem; it’s a multi-generation legacy that is birthing a movement of positive social and economic change.
As our world becomes increasingly disconnected, we are building bridges and changing lives.
